High weight resistance latex. Dense, firm support with responsive elastic-foam contouring.
Comfortably, undoubtedly, firm.
Dense latex foam is responsive to weight - it contours slightly - with strong, uplifting support.
Highly efficient weight support, maximised in just 10cm of latex
Temperature and humidity levels are regulated through a breathable cover, wool quilting, and open-cell latex.
Simple but appropriate materials make for an ideal mattress: latex foam supports body weight; wool for a fresh sleep atmosphere; knitted fabric stretches to contour shape. All natural, breathable and durable.
Air circulates through the the whole mattress: latex, wool, cotton and bamboo. The breathable and insulating properties of latex and wool help regulate optimum sleep temperature.
The quilted wool layer disperses humidity. This freshness is what helps the mattress feel warm in winter and refreshing in summer.
The density of these latex layers is each available from very soft to extra firm.
Find the right thickness and combination of latex layers. It's easy to choose your ideal mattress.
Natural Beds provides a unique service: you can exchange layers of your latex mattress within a trial of 90 nights, for free, and we will cover postage. This means you can take out a layer and send it back to us, and we will send you a firmer or softer latex layer in return. You can do this with any layer, and swap it for any density.
Swapping the top latex layer with one of a different density one can dramatically change the feel of the mattress. The density of the top layer provides the greatest influence on the feel of the mattress.
In winter, many people prefer a softer, cosier bed and so move a softer layer to the top, and in summer they move a firmer layer to the top for a cooler, more refreshing sleep.
Seraphic 20 : Thick and luxurious. Three layers of latex, customisable from very soft to very firm.
Seraphic 15 : Our most popular mattress in medium and firm preferences.
Seraphic 10 : Suits people who like firm, compact mattresses
If you are comfortable on any bed, can't decide, or don't know what to choose, then we usually suggest starting with a Seraphic 15 with medium density latex. We have designed the Seraphic 15 to best suit the widest range of people's preferences in regards to feel, thickness and support.
Latex layers can be exchanged at any time within three months to make the mattress softer or firmer.
Do you need a non-standard size? We do not surcharge for special sizes and special orders still come with a 10-Year Warranty, however they are not entitled to a trial or exchange period.
High purity rubber foam keeps its support, shape and springiness for many years without discernable change. We guarantee this for 10 years, but many latex mattresses last decades with reasonable care.
Pure wool also retains breathability, insulation, and humidity reducing properties. Pure wool eventually 'felts' as the natural fibers tangle and smooth together. We recommend turning the cover over, or around, at least every year to even up the smoothing across the mattress surface. Other than the cover looking less fluffy, the wool felting does not effect the mattress performance or longevity.
The cover fabric is a special three layer knit structure which makes it strong, flexible and breathable. It contours with the latex, retains the wool and provides a breathable surface to the mattress.
Latex is the sap or 'milk' of the rubber tree. To extract the latex, a sliver of bark is hand cut from the trunk of the rubber tree, and the milk is sustainably 'tapped' into a cup. This labour intensive process results in one or two cups of milk per tree per day.
Here at Natural Beds we import organic latex foam of outstanding purity from a Sri Lankan sustainably-grown rubber plantation and latex foam manufacturer called EcoLatex. No pesticides are used on the trees and no synthetics are used in manufacturing.
This organic latex foam is made with a modern Dunlop method where a precise amount of latex milk is foamed with carbon dioxide, vacuum expanded to a foam of a given density, then temperature cured into layers of elastic foam.
EcoLatex has several organic, ethical and sustainability certifications including Global Organic Latex Standard, Forest Stewardship Council and Fair Rubber.
Organic latex foam is non-toxic, unappealing to dust mites (which can cause of sleep allergies), resistant to mold and mildew, as well as being the best performing and most environmentally friendly bed material available.

Our customers' favourite mattress is the Seraphic 15 with 'medium feel' layers of latex. Balanced to suit most people's sleep requirements of support and comfort. Thick enough to completely avoid pressure points with all but the softest latex.
The most versatile option is the Seraphic 20 medium. It can be made firmer or softer simply by ordering the latex layers differently. If you like a very soft mattress, we recommend the soft Seraphic 20. It is so thick that even the fluffiest latex can be used without any pressure points.
If you like a firm and compact mattress with little bounce, we recommend the Seraphic 10.
